shoes and baby stuff
Being 17 weeks pregnant, the only fun things to shop for are shoes for myself and baby anything. I am very excited to try on shoes from the Cynthia Vincent line at Target.

fall at Anthro
Anthropologie is having the best summer sale right now (for example, a pair of black Joe's jeans for under $50.00), but what I am loving is below:
This dress is from Anna Sui and I am interested in how her Target line is going to be in a few weeksMonday, May 4, 2009

TGIF
My weekend includes:
- picking up this book at B & N and reading it
- trying on these shoes from Target (the reviews online say they are comfortable)
- cleaning my makeup brushes and jewelry (I have not done this in months)
- going out to eat with my sister-in-law's family (trying Rosebud Trattoria) We tried Scoozi! a few weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised.
- seeing the Chicago River turn green
- finishing season 6 of the Sopranos
- watching Rachel Getting Married

McQ at Target
$614.00 tux jumpsuit (See more of the McQueen collection here.)
The prices seem high for Target, (29.99 for leggings?) which is okay as long as the quality is better than previous Go collections.
My picks: the black leather vest and zipper leggings (I need to see these in person)
When: starting March 1st
(hint: visit the Target on Elston (in Chicago) a few days early because they put the collections out early or shop online and save 10% using a AAA discount)

As seen on...
Miranda in the Sex and the City Movie.
(the earrings are 14k gold and $4750.00!)

I found a cheaper version in the Dean Harris jewelry line at Target
(this pair is on clearance for $24.99 and sterling silver)

Thakoon for Target

Here is a secret: the Target on Elston (in Chicago) releases the Go International clothing a few days earlier than online and other stores. I went the day after Christmas (release date 12/28) and found the entire line untouched, with every size available. I discovered this a year ago and now I try to go 2 days before the release date of Go International. (I can't believe I just revealed this now - I swear I was not trying to keep it to myself.) This way I am able to try on anything in whatever size I need and then go home and order it with my AAA discount. (10% off and free shipping) I still want this coat because I have a feeling when I see someone wearing it next year, I will kick myself for not getting it now. Some of the clothing is even sold out already. (Cheryl Shops gives a great review of the Thakoon line) Also, the line of Dean Harris jewelry at Target is on clearance. Out of all the designer lines at Target, I think this is the best ever. I added this to my collection.

Full House
Remember Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen? Well, they created a clothing line called Elizabeth and James (named after their siblings) and now they have created lamps and rugs at Target. I wonder what will be next? (I have to admit that I do like this leather jacket)

Christmas Decorations
This weekend I decided to put up our skinny Christmas tree - I know this is very early, but I don't want the box sitting out in our condo when people come to look through it. (our condo is for sale and I store big things like a Christmas tree at my in-laws house in the suburbs) I also decided to take a trip to Target on Saturday morning to look for holiday decorations and Christmas gifts. (and I stopped by cb2 on the way)
Santa boots - these are actually bigger than they appear and I put them under our Christmas Tree (eventually I want to put them in an entryway by this bench at Crate and Barrel)
I have 2 of these stars sitting on each side of the advent calendar below. I really like the bigger version of this star, but I don't have space for it. My solution is to wait for it to go on clearance, purchase it, and then store it for later use.
After a long search, I found this advent calendar that I plan to fill with messages, candy, gift certificates, and treats for my husband and dog.
(if you bring 5 non-perishable food items until the end of November - you can save 15% off your purchase at cb2)

Dean Harris for Target
I was in Target today to pick up a few things and I came across the new Dean Harris Jewelry line. I saw a few of his pieces in magazines (with peace signs) and didn't think much about them until I saw these 2 necklaces:

All of his Target pieces are made with sterling silver (some with 18K gold over the silver) and with genuine stones. The last line of designer jewelry was subversive and mostly plastic (and still $20.00-50.00).

I also like these earrings and gasped when I looked at Dean Harris' real jewelry line and found a pair similar to these for $11,705.00! (target's are $24.99)
