Apartment Therapy

For the past few months, I have been addicted to apartment therapy and this house tour is very interesting! (a family of 4 lives in a 640 sf studio in NYC)

More arts and crafts...

Can you tell that I am not very crafty? Here is another cute idea and I think I could do it:

speaking of Target...

I found some great news things while picking up dog toys and deodorant:

more cuckoo clocks

I was in Target yesterday and came across a black cuckoo clock for $24.99 (I could not find it on their web page, but I did find this one) available in white too

Jon and Kate + 8

One of my goals this summer was to catch up on all of the episodes... I am getting closer... only a few more!

Barney's Warehouse Sale

I have always heard how great this sale is so when I was in NYC last week, I decided to enter. I immediately elbowed my way into the shoe section and I spent an hour trying on Manolo's Louboutin's, Prada, Marc Jacobs, and many others. All of the shoes looked used because they were thrown into big bins for sorting sizes. The cheapest pair of shoes that I saw were still over $100.00. (most were $200.00 - $400.00) The Manolo's that I loved were still $300.00.... so I decided not to get any shoes because if I am going to spend that amount I want them to be new. The clothing was also overpriced and many things I found had holes and were marked "as is." I checked out Barney's online sale and found some of the same shoes that were at the warehouse... so I recommend looking at the online sale because the items will be new and you can return them. I felt like I found better bargains at Century 21 and Nordstrom's rack for designer clothing at reasonable prices.

New York, New York

This is what else we have been up to:

Dylan's Candy Bar (I am eating a candy bar for breakfast right now)

Serendipity 3 - The frozen hot chocolate is the best thing they have.

Century 21 = TjMaxx on crack

walked around Times Square and Midtown

ate a bagel with cream cheese from a street vendor (I wish Chicago had these)

walked around Wall Street

Moma's store

Up next: Les Paul at Iridium, Legally Blonde with Bailey from MTV, walking tour of Central Park, walking tour of Greenwich Village, a boat ride around the harbor, Barneys Warehouse sale (how else can I afford anything from this store), and a Yankees game

from Ikea ($279.00)
I feel like some of the prices on things are going up at Ikea!?

lovely kitchen table!

Check out this NYC apartment tour here. I love the big sur table from crate and barrel. (pictured above)
I also learned about whiteonwhite from this AT tour. (you can find modern and more affordable chairs)

Fall shoes

black flat boots
patent leather red flats

(from jcrew)

I visited the new Trump tower in Chicago and ate at Sixteen (which is on the 16th floor and I blogged about here). I ordered the Turkey burger and it was great! (the view of the city and the service was also the best) I recommed at least going into the lobby and using the bathroom because the building is amazing.

French rolls

Remember when it was cool to french roll your jeans?
Check out this article about Kate Holmes.
(I also heard that Alexander McQueen is doing the next Go International line at Target.)

I have been painting our condo for the last few days because we are putting it on the market soon. (we found a place we want to buy) After I finished painting the bathroom, hallway, and kitchen I declared to my husband, "I am never painting again!" that is until I saw this watch.... maybe I will paint the family room so that I can get this watch instead of hiring someone.

My love for chalkboard paint continues...

this is a table/magazine stand/chalkboard
(I can't remember where I found it)

Berry chill

I finally waited in line at berry chill this week and it was very good. It tasted just like pinkberry but they had more toppings to pick (like Girl Scout cookies, fruit, and cereal.) Next up.... king cafe (low calorie ice cream) and Trump Tower's Sixteen.
